Martha’s Morning Magic Green Smoothie

If you’re new to the smoothie world, this might not be the drink for you. “Add a pinch of ginseng to your favourite smoothie recipe” is a phrase you’re probably wondering about and I would encourage you to click on Remi’s Farm Life Smoothie recipe instead. 


However, if you are like us and are now a committed daily smoothie or juice enthusiast for the health benefits, you’re in the right place. Whether your life involves driving the tractor, doing school drop off, or acing your work day, Martha’s Morning Magic Green Smoothie is the drink for you. 


Serves 2


Ingredients:

A handful of kale 

1 green apple

2 lemons 

1 nub of ginger root 

1 tsp King Lake Farms ginseng powder

3 stalks of celery

Half a cucumber 


Instructions:

  1. Trim and roughly chop celery, kale and cucumber.

  2. Core apple (I leave the skin on for added nutrients)

  3. Peel lemons and ginger. 

  4. Add ingredients to your blender including the King Lake Farms ginseng powder and water to the fill line and blend thoroughly. 

  5. Taste and adjust ingredients as needed. For example, if it’s not quite sweet enough you can add a teaspoon of local honey. If it’s too thick for your taste, add another splash of water or some ice cubes.

Note: This recipe can also be made using King Lake Farms dried ginseng root or fibers. Simply pop the King Lake Farms ginseng root or fibers into your blender first and blend 30 second for root, 15 seconds for fiber. Then add the rest of your ingredients!
