Everything you’ve wanted to know about King Lake Farms — from how we grow our ginseng to how it arrives at your door.

Q: Where is King Lake Farms located?

A: We’re rooted in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, surrounded by fresh air, forest edges, and the kind of soil ginseng loves. Our farm is proudly family-run and grounded in sustainable practices.

Q: What makes your ginseng different?

A: We grow high-quality ginseng with care and intention. No shortcuts, no mass production — just slow, thoughtful farming that respects the land and the people who work it.

Q: How long does it take to grow ginseng?

A: Ginseng is a patient plant. It takes 4–5 years to mature, which means every root you receive represents seasons of care, tending, and trust in the land.

Q: Where do you ship?

A: We currently ship within Canada for a flat rate of $25, which includes insurance and tracking. We also ship worldwide. Interested wholesale buyers (foreign and domestic) should contact Remi directly. King Lake Farms provides government documentation, CITES form, and facilitates overseas shipping containers.

Q: Do you offer local pick-up?

A: Yes! If you're in the area, we’d love to meet you. Contact Martha@Kinglakefarms.com or Remi at 519-281-9034 to arrange a pick-up time.

Q: What is your return policy?

A: We want you to love our ginseng. If something isn’t quite right, contact Martha@Kinglakefarms.com within 15 days of purchase to begin a return or exchange.

Q: How do I store dried ginseng?

A: Keep it in a cool, dry, airtight container, away from sunlight. Stored properly, dried ginseng stays fresh and potent for a long time.

Q: Do you use sustainable farming practices?

A:  Absolutely. Respect for the land is at the core of King Lake Farms. We prioritize soil health, minimize waste, and ensure fair wages for everyone who helps bring our ginseng to life.

Q: Still have questions?

A: Send us a message anytime — we love talking ginseng.

Living Wage Certified

At King Lake Farms, we believe the strength of our community starts with fair pay. Being Living Wage Certified means we voluntarily pay our employees a wage that reflects the real cost of living in our region — not just the minimum.

A living wage is calculated by the Ontario Living Wage Network and represents what a worker needs to earn to cover basic expenses like housing, food, transportation, and childcare, while still being able to participate in community life.

By choosing to pay a living wage, we’re investing in our team, our families, and the long-term health of rural Ontario.
